• CARE/CLEANING
  • Are cushions/pillows/umbrellas waterproof? Can they be left out in the rain/hosed-off?
    Sunbrella® fabrics do not absorb water. They are designed to be breathable and are water repellent, but not completely waterproof. Occasional rainfall will help keep your umbrella canopy clean. Our 100% polyester fabrics are fairly non-absorbent, but like Sunbrella fabrics, are not waterproof. Although both fabrics can be left out in the rain and can be hosed off, they will require drying time before use. We recommend not leaving cushions out in the rain and storing them out of the elements when not in use to extend their life.
  • What is the best way to dry out cushions/pillows? How long does it take to dry-out cushions/pillows?
    Both the Sunbrella® fabrics and the polyester fabrics do not absorb water and are designed to air-dry quickly. A clothes dryer is not necessary and will overheat and shrink the fabric. For faster drying, turn cushions on the side to expose the larger surfaces to the air and sun. Drying time will vary depending on the amount of moisture/rain, fabric type, and cushion fill material. Be sure to test cushion for possible moisture before sitting on it.
  • Are cushions/pillows/umbrellas mildew proof?
    In humid parts of the country, care should be taken with all cushions: keeping all fabric clean is the best defense against mildew. Mildew will not grow on Sunbrella® or polyester fabrics unless there is food, dirt or other organic matter on the fabric.
  • How do I deep-clean my outdoor cushions/umbrella/pillows (clean-off bird droppings, insect stains, tree sap, etc.)?
    We recommend the use of Outdoor Fabric Cleaner - formulated by Simoniz® to remove mold, mildew, food, dirt, tree sap, leaf stains and bird droppings from all water-safe outdoor fabrics. It revives the look of patio cushions, pillows and umbrellas.
    
    Sunbrella® fabric: Fill must be removed and should never be placed in a machine. Only the Sunbrella fabric may be machine washed in cold water (less than 100F/38C). Depending on the wash load size, use normal amounts of mild laundry soap. For stubborn stains or mildew add 1 cup bleach. Allow fabric to air dry. NEVER DRY CLEAN. If necessary, carefully iron, but only on the synthetic setting. As some irons exceed the recommended 100F temperature on the synthetic setting, test a small inconspicuous area before ironing entire piece. DO NOT use a steamer or iron set to steam setting.
    
    Polyester fabric: Sponge with a mixture of 2 capfuls dish soap in 1 gallon of water, rinse well and air dry. Never use bleach or harsh cleaners. DO NOT clean in wash machine or put in machine dryer, this could result in pilling, discoloration, and /or shrinkage. NEVER DRY CLEAN or IRON.
  • Is there a protectant I should use on my outdoor cushions/umbrella/pillows?
    We recommend the use of Outdoor Fabric Protector - formulated by Simoniz® with Teflon® Surface Protector to repel water and protect outdoor fabrics against mold and mildew and UV inhibitor to protect against fading due to sun exposure. It returns older cushions to their original water repellency. Click here
  • How often should I clean my outdoor cushions/umbrella/pillows?
    The best way to keep Sunbrella® fabrics and polyester fabrics looking good is to simply clean them as needed. Rinse off dust and dirt, wipe spills as soon as they occur or spot clean soon after stains occur.
  • If I take the Sunbrella® fabric off to clean it, can I put the fabric into my dryer?
    Sunbrella® fabrics do not absorb water and are designed to air-dry quickly. A clothes dryer is not necessary, and will often overheat and shrink the fabric. Do NOT put the entire cushion in a washing machine is this will harm the fabric and the fill inside the cushions.
  • Can I put the cushions and pillows in the washing machine to clean? In the dryer to dry?
    Do not place whole cushions or pillows in the washing machine or in the dryer. See above regarding how to clean the fabric.
  • How often should I replace my outdoor cushions/umbrella/pillows?
    Whether you choose to replace due to wear and tear, animal/environmental damage or decorating changes - only you can gauge when you need/want to replace your outdoor cushions/pillows/umbrella. And remember, the best way to extend the life of your cushions is to clean them.

  • Do the cushions, pillows, umbrellas have UV protection to prevent fading?
    Sunbrella's UV-resistant color pigments are fully blended into its high performance fiber. Sunbrella® colors stay strong and vibrant, even through intense sunlight exposure and cleaning with bleach, while retaining the softness of spun cotton. The polyester fabrics are also treated with UV protection, but since the fabric is different the colors will change more quickly than Sunbrella fabrics do.
  • What is the difference between Sunbrella® acrylic fabric and spun polyester fabrics?
    Sunbrella® is a 100% solution-dyed acrylic fabric. Each thread is dyed to provide a long-lasting fade-resistant fabric which has the softness of spun cotton. Sunbrella is one of the most durable outdoor fabrics on the market and offers enduring color, softness while resisting stains and fading. Spun polyester is made from 100% synthetic polyester fibers and is a durable, quick-drying, shrink-resistant fabric that also resists fading. The spun polyester fabric is a printed fabric, unlike the solution-dyed Sunbrella acrylic fabric. Since it is printed, this fabric allows for a wide selection of beautiful floral patterns to complement any back yard.
  • Can you put new covers on my existing cushions?
    We do not recover existing cushions, as it is our experience that a full newly-constructed cushion will have the best fit and construction.
• ORDERING
  • How do I measure my furniture to make sure I order the correct size replacement cushions?
    To ensure the best fit with your current furniture, follow these measurement guidelines for comparison against our available individual cushion sizes:
    
    If you have a current seat cushion:
    For the seat: measure across the front edge of the cushion from left to right corner (width of seat cushion); measure from the back corner to the front corner on either side of the cushion (height of seat cushion). Note: all seat cushions (excluding chaise) on this site are square; if your current cushions are trapezoids or some other shape, consider a size that will best fit within the inner confines of your furniture. For the back: measure across the top edge of the cushion from left to right corner (width of back cushion); measure from the top corner to the bottom corner on either side of the cushion (height of back cushion). For the thickness: measure your current cushion at the thickest point (this may be in the center - or near the edges where it may not be as worn/contoured.)
    
    If you don't have a current cushion:
    For the seat: measure across the front edge of the chair where the cushion will sit; if your furniture has arms, be sure to measure within the arms (width of seat cushion); when measuring the length, if you don't have a solid back on the chair, line-up the tape measure at the back by looking down the back of the chair from above and measure from the back corner of the seating area to the front corner on either side (length of seat cushion). To ensure the most comfortable fit, allow approximately an inch overhang so the furniture frame will not press up against your legs when you are sitting. For the back: remember to allow for the thickness of the seat cushion when measuring, or your back cushion may sit too high above the back of the seat. The back cushion should sit slightly higher than the back of the chair based on your personal preference. For the thickness: review our cushion variety and choose the thickness you prefer.
  • Is it safe to give my personal information and use my credit card for online purchases?
    Viva Paradise values your privacy. We know that you care how information about your order is used and shared. This is why we will not sell, or give away your email address. Nor do we store your credit card information on file; this is to aid in your security and protection. We do, however need to provide shipment, address and product information to FedEx or other couriers.
  • What are my payment options?
    We gladly accept Visa, MasterCard and Discover.
  • What are my shipping costs?
    As you view the detailed product description with the item price, you will see the flat shipping rate for each individual item. This cost will carry-through the Order Process.
  • Can you rush my order?
    We process every order as quickly as possible. Although we have up to 10 days for us to manufacture your order, if possible we will ship earlier. If you have a special need, please contact our Customer Service Representatives here.
  • What happens after I place an order?
    Upon purchase, we process all orders immediately at our US manufacturing facility and will keep customers notified of shipment status via the ORDER STATUS page on this website. Please note it may take up to 24 hours before your initial order status information is available.
  • When will my credit card be charged?
    When your order is placed.
  • When will my order arrive?
    Please allow 10 days for us to fulfill your order prior to shipping. Because we custom-make each order to specification, we take care to ship the right product to the customer. Also, with our advanced manufacturing process, we are able to fulfill orders within only 10 days. This includes processing time, packing, stitching and quality control processes. Once an order is shipped, shipment transit time may take from 3-5 days.
  • How will my order be shipped?
    Viva Paradise ships all products via FedEx to United States customers. We currently do not ship to PO Boxes, APO addresses, Hawaii or Alaska at this time.
  • Help! I just placed an order and now I have a change/cancellation.

• CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS
  • I am looking for a specific size, not available in the retail stores or on your site - can I order a custom size cushion, pillow, umbrella?
    We apologize for the inconvenience, at this time we do not accommodate custom sizes/styles.
  • Should I choose a box edge or double welt cord construction?
    Either style cushion will be an attractive addition to any back yard. The decision to purchase a boxed edge cushion or a double welt cord cushion is a personal preference.
  • What are your cushions filled with?
    Our polyester cushions are filled with everLUXE® polyester fiber fill, a patented fiber technology that retains shape, feels better, lasts longer, and provides improved loft and retention over traditional fiber fills in the marketplace.
    Our Sunbrella® acrylic cushions are filled with foam wrapped in 100% polyester fiber.

• UMBRELLAS
  • Do the umbrella frames tilt?
    Yes - both our Garden and our Market umbrellas feature a manual 3-position tilt mechanism.
  • What should I do with my umbrella in the summer when it is not in use?
    When not in use, fully close umbrella to reduce exposure to the elements.
  • Do I need a base for my umbrella if I have it in a table?
    Yes - we recommend the use of a stabilizing, weighted base to reduce possible umbrella movement or table shifting, especially in wind.
  • Will the umbrellas rust if they are left out in the rain?
    No - our umbrella frames are constructed of anodized aluminum - the process of anodizing provides a naturally protective finish.
  • Can I replace only the fabric part (canopy) of the umbrella?
    We apologize for the inconvenience, but at this time we do not accommodate custom sizes/styles. Due to the wide variety of umbrella frames in the marketplace - each with their own manufacturing specifications - it is nearly impossible to ensure a correct canopy replacement size that truly fits and conforms to your specific frame.
